4 Must-See Filipino Films This Love Month


Love is in the air, and no matter how cliche that sounds, it is. So as we breath in, our love hormones go loco over it that we get so consumed by the chemical reaction that is taking place inside our body. This makes us feel satisfaction and also the need for more. So to help you have your fill of love this hearts month, here are the four films that you must see to feel the mysterious and wonderful experience that is love.

Sakaling Hindi Makarating

Prepare for a rush of combined adrenalin and oxitocyn this February 1st as this award-winning independent film hit the cinemas with an unusual love story and unexpected plot twist. Written and directed by Ice Adanan, the film revolves around the story of heartbroken woman,  Cielo (played by Alessandra de Rosi) who lost her fiancĂ© after 11 years of being together. After that, Cielo started receiving postcards along with matching love poems in her apartment. She decided to visit each destination in the hopes of finding the mysterious sender “M” .

As it goes along, Cielo’s adventure will let you learn to love yourself. This movie tells that everything happens for a reason. And though it may be hard to find out, the happenings will teach us that things will come in time.




Foolish Love

Prepare for an endorphine explosion as Angeline Quinto plays a character that is obsessed to meet the guy in her dreams in Foolish Love.

Angeline's character worries about her love life too much because she is nearly turning 30 years old. As she believes in destiny, she met someone who has the same name in the guy in her dreams and it is Jake Cuenca’s character. She fell deeply in love with Jake. Their relationship seems to become okay but one day, Angeline realizes that Jake isn’t the man in her dreams. This is a real-life love story of Miho Nishida and Tommy Esguerra.

"Foolish Love" started running in the cinemas last January 25 and will continue showing for the month of February.




I’m Drunk, I Love You



Because love is blind that and lacks betacarotene, some people answers yes to the question, "Have you ever been in love with your bestfriend?" And one of those many people is Maja Salvador in "I am Drunk, I Love You."

The film tells about two college best friends who decided to go on one last road trip to La Union where they will settle how they really feel for each other. Maja Salvador and Paolo Avelino reunite in this movie directed by JP Habac. This will hit the cinemas on the 15th of February.

Also starring are Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Irma Adlawan, and Jim Paredes. This is perfect for those who had been in “friend zone”. You will love this indie film as it features the music of Parokya ni Edgar, Bullet Dumas, Juan Miguel Severo, Kai Honasan, Ebe Dancel, Johnoy Danao, Shirebound and Busking, The Out of Body Special, Ang Bandang Shirley and many more.




My Ex and Whys

Let us take some time to entertain our pain hormones with LizQuen. After the success of "Dolce Amore" last 2016, the love team is now back on the big screen with the next movie film by Director Cathy Garcia-Molina. Set in South Korea, this is a romantic comedy which follows the story of how a former playboy Gio (portrayed by Enrique Gil) who tries to prove to his blogger ex-girlfriend Calli (Liza Soberano) that he has already changed.

Also starring is Dominic Roque, Joey Marquez and Ryan Bang. This will be open in cinemas on the 15th of February.
