2016 is over. New year, new hope! And more than that, the new year is also about new opportunities. Another year to prove to ourselves that we are independent and that we can establish and put up a business on our own. Even though it might sound impossible to you, here are these young entrepreneurs who have proven that we can start a business as young as 20 years old.
Gian Javelona – CEO of his company at a young age. Gian Javelona, CEO of OrangeApps released the product “Khawna.” The term “Khawna” is derived from the Tagalog phrase “ikaw na” which is said to a person whenever he/she were able to achieve something great. Khawna offers classes that emphasize hard skills like in Science and Technology. OrangeApps is a mobile and web platform that allows schools to manage its entire operation using solutions from online enrollment, tuition fee monitoring, class scheduling, online learning and a lot more. At the end of his interview in Rappler he said that it`s not impossible for Filipinos to build a billion dollar company in the future. In his interview with Rappler, Javelona believes that it is not impossible for Filipinos to build a billion dollar company in the future. See? You got this!
Kiefer Ravena & Alyssa Valdez – Along with their other friends, Sports enthusiast Kiefer Ravena and Alyssa Valdez opened a restaurant that serves all day breakfast restaurant. They were already able to open four branches along Metro Manila. Ally`s All Day Breakfast is famous for its breakfast meals and pancakes. It was also ranked as 8th in Spot.ph`s “12 Breakfast Places to Start your Day Right.” Now this is what you call #RelationshipGoals.
David Guison – Founder of top menswear blog DG Manila. He was already able to work with over 200 local and international brands including top fashion labels such as Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Dolce and Gabbana, Lacoste, Zara, Topman, H&M, as well as Canon and Ford. He also sells pre-owned clothes and accessories during bazaars.
Juan Miguel Alvarez – From being a DOTA player and a delinquent student, Juan Miguel changed his life because of his curiosity in web development. He knew nothing about it. But since he`s very determined to learn web development, he pushed himself to study everything about web development. After college, he successfully opened Potatocodes, a digital agency and consultancy.
Lorenz Florendo – Lorenz Florendo opened Tatang`s Extra Crispy Boneless Lechon in 2012 to change the idea that lechons are only for special occasions. He served affordable boneless lechons in order to make any day special. He served affordable boneless lechons to make any day special. Its first branch was officially launched last October 2012 in Buglasan Festival in Dumaguete City. Let`s face it, 90`s babies are not babies anymore. If these people were able to start their own company at a very young age, then it`s not impossible for you to start your own. We may lack experience but starting early gives us the advantage to rise back if ever we experience failure. If you dream of having a successful business, then do it. You just need a sprinkle of determination and passion in order to achieve success. If they were able to do it, believe in yourself that you can also do it.
