“New Year, New Me”,
“OplanBalikAlindog”, “#HealthyLiving” are just some of battlecries that we
usually say when starting a new year. But often, these catch phrases just last
for a week. While we have enlightened you about why your workout plan isn’t
working, here is another tip to help you, our fellow Millennials in your
journey to a healthier life and fitter bod this 2017.
1.
Know the type of physique
that you want to achieve
The main reason why we work out is
surely to become fit, whether it be super buff or just slim. It is really
important to know the type of physique that your body can achieve. (Yes!
because there are body types that can’t achieve a specific type of physique.)
And there are three body types to start
with.
You can choose from Ectomorphic
Physique which is a lean and think look. This physique fits those who are ramp
models or those who just do workout as a hobby. The Mesomorphic Physique can be
considered as the best physique. It’s the type of physique that all body
builders have. One example is Arnold Schwarzenegger. And lastly, Endomorphic
Physique is the type of physique hated by body builders but loved by pro
wrestlers. It’s the perfect physique if you want to have the strength of a
wrestler.
2. Be Passionate and practice
Discipline
To be honest, money or any fancy gym
equipment are not the main ingredient in living a healthy life or in achieving
the perfect body, it’s DISCIPLINE. (I know, we have said this the last time but
twice is really better than one)
The lack of passion and discipline is
the main reason why most people’s “healthy lifestyle” only last for a couple of
weeks. You should love what you are doing especially when its output is going
to affect the wellness of your body and health.
3. Look for a Role Model
It speaks for itself. Look for a
person who shows passion and discipline in staying fit and healthy and make
that person your role model and by the time you know it, you will have the same
passion and discipline just like that person. One example is Dwayne “The Rock”
Johnson. Follow his Instagram account and you will be amazed on how serious he
is in staying fit and healthy.
4. Find a friend
Having a personal trainer is important
but it is also expensive, so if you want to be fit and healthy but don’t want
to spend a lot of money, why not convince a friend to join you on your way to
fitness. Sure your friend may not be experienced just like a personal trainer,
but he/she can still provide you with the support and company that a trainer
can give, and most of all, he or she is a friend, what more can you ask for?!
5. Slow progress is better
than no progress at all
Frustration starts to kick in knowing
that we are moving slower than we expected in our journey to being healthy, but
look on the brighter side, it’s better than having no progress at all. And you
should use it as a tool to motivate yourself and to push yourself much more.
