Achieving Your Own “Athleisure” in 5 Simple Ways

It is the most wonderful time of the year! But with all the parties, get together all the “gala” that comes with this joyful season, some (like me for example) might be have a hard time deciding on what look to pull off to be cool and gorgeous AF in all of your holiday engagements.

For Victoria’s Secret Supermodel Martha Hunt, everyone knows the importance of good health now and it isn’t about the rocker party lifestyle anymore but taking care of our self. With this change 2016 became the year of sport-inspired fashion. Presenting, the Athleisure!.

For women it can be a simple T-shirt, cropped sweatshirt, jacket, leggings and sneakers for men it can be sweatshirts, T-shirts, hoodies, tailored joggers, sweatpants and classic running trainers making it easy for celebrities and the Millennial all around the globe to follow.

Cleaver News says that the Kardashians are one of the (if not “the”) pioneers of this trend. From the merging casual to sport style of Yeezy of Kanye West (Kim Kardashian’s husband) and the classy workout outfits of the workout queen Khloé Karhashian. Then it’s followed by other celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Rita Ora, Kendall Jenner and Rihanna to Victoria’s Secret Angels like Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr and Karlie Kloss and the list goes on.

With this trend still on the rise a simple millennial can easily follow this trend that celebrities started. Of course the classic sports brands like Nike, Addidas, New Balance, Under Armour are a go-to place to get your Athleisure self- started! Here are some of the rules you can follow:

1.    Mix and match

It does not have to be all active-wear to do the trend you can mix your casual wear with sport style by wearing your favorite Adidas hoodie with classic jeans and finish it off with running trainers.

2.    Invest in pieces that can mix with casual wear

Some trends, stay and some trends don’t so it is smart to invest in pieces that can stand the test of time and still be wearable after the trend is over.

3.    The fitting is everything

Especially in active-wear some pieces must be worn skin tight and some must be loose and easy. It is important to know the right fit of the sportswear you’re going to buy, nobody wants baggy leggings!

4.    Accessorize

Wearing your favorite silver or gold wrist watch or a simple thin chain necklace can will elevate your look but remember! Do not over accessorize.

5.    Do not abandon your own style

The trend may be done by many people, but do not abandon your own unique style. Instead, incorporate something new, try a new style of leggings or new style of sneakers that no one has done before.
